関西出身。幼少期に英国に5年間住んでいた際、本場のバードウォッチング文化に感化され大の鳥好きに。

鳥への興味は次第に「鳥を研究したい」という気持ちに変わり、大自然を求めて北海道へ。今では日本全国が研究フィールドとなり、北は北海道、南は琉球列島まで広く飛び回っています。

Born in Japan. Became a keen birder and wildlif enthusiast after spending 5 years in the UK. It wasn't long before my love for birds became an interest in ornithology, which guided me to Hokkaido, one of the most wildlife-rich parts of Japan. Recently my research topics are based in many different parts of Japan, which has given me opportunity to go to many remote places within the country.
